From a concerned neighbor:
Hello,
Last week there were 2 mallard ducks that showed up in and around my front lawn on Lakeview Avenue. One of the ducks has a broken wing, it looks like and the healthy duck would not leave its side. The ducks were hanging out in the street and sure enough the healthy one was hit and killed by a car. The lame duck is still hanging out by itself. I tried to shoo it back to the park but it would not leave. I thought about catching it and putting it in a cat carrier and binging it up to Swan lake. Is there anything that can be done? The duck is around 2118 Lakeview Avenue. Right now it is under the 56′ Chevy. Thanks if you have any information about duck rescue.

Not sure if these peeps can help or not.

They do work with wildlife although ducks are not specifically mentioned. They have taken birds and squirrels from me before that were either abandoned babies or hurt. If they can’t help they might know who can. Worth a shot to reach out to them.
Any #RVA peeps know who to contact to help a duck w/broken wing?ā@ByrdParkdotnet: Take These Broken Wings: http://t.co/qtF67M3vā
perhaps give maymont a call?
