Ransacked on Rosewood
From a neighbor on the 2400 block of Rosewood:
This is just another reminder to the good citizens of Byrd Park to keep your personal items out of view and locked up. It seems our household has let a temporary naive streak get the best of us. Just a day ago, a gray bike with yellow tires and a child’s seat attached to it was stolen from our front porch. Apparently, we had neglected to chain it up or the chain was not a sufficient deterrent. Regardless, my son and myself are without a bicycle. Just a week ago, we accidentally left our car unlocked overnight (which we do not make a habit of). The next morning we found everything from the glove box and console thrown around inside. In this case, we had the last laugh because we don’t actually own anything of value so nothing was taken.
The point I want everyone to take from these two recent incidents is that it seems that someone is cruising the neighborhood (at least on Rosewood) on a nightly basis. I’m sure most of you know what is normal for your neighborhood and if you see suspicious activity, report it. If you have anything that has to be outdoors, lock it up.Sad, but true.
Make sure you report it to the police, the same thing happened to our car a couple weeks ago, nothing taken but the contents were strewn about. The more calls to the police, the more patrols they send out our way. It’s sad that personal property gets removed so frequently from our homes, no one deserves it, and its just despicable.
This happened to me around the same time. The morons ranscked my vehicle. I have nothing of value inside, but I say morons because they dropped something behind in my car
Happened to me and my car, nothing taken. Police have been out in cars (been followed) from 9pm until 4am looking for theives. Also copper is being stolen off telephone/elec wires. Report it all and hope they get a “shock” on the elec wire theft!
