For Fireworks Parking Issues
Neighbors, if people parking to see the fireworks becomes an issue, here is some reassurance from the Byrd Park Civic League:
Hello Everyone,
We just heard from the Richmond City Police regarding the Fourth of July in Byrd Park. They wanted us to know that the Richmond City Police will have extra officers monitoring illegal parking in Byrd Park tomorrow. They are prepared
to give tickets to violators and will be enforcing towing.
To ensure that parking violations don't escalate they ask that you please assist in their efforts by calling the non-emergency number to report all parking violations as soon poosible as you see them.
The non-emergency number is (804) 646-5100.
Thank you,
Jolanda Knezevich

I thought it went a lot better but a lot of it was due to the residents taking steps before the fireworks. I actually had a nice man ring my doorbell to ask if he could park behind the house. It was refreshing. I do, however, hope that one day only residents will be allowed on our streets after a certain time on these days. It is an event that brings in people that otherwise would not be roaming around the neighborhood. I was actually held up at gun point one 4th of July so I don’t have warm feelings for the event.
