Deer Crossing Behind the Carillon
Behind the Ha’Penny Stage by the Carillon there is a wooded alcove with this blocked path at one end (pictured). Just before the picture was taken, a pair of deer could be seen crossing the path and bounding into the woods. There are also a few blue metal structures (that don’t photograph well) that look like jungle gyms built for 7-foot-tall children. Does anyone know what those are for? Beyond the closed road, the narrowing path winds through the woods in the direction of the Pump House. These are just a few hidden features of our parkland and reason to explore for yourselves. With a little exploring, what might start as a visit to Carillon’s Totlot playground can result in some adventures in nature. The chance at an urban deer sighting is pretty exciting too.
