The locations and/or suspect descriptions involving one (1) robbery and one (1) attempt robbery of individuals that occurred in April are listed below:
Friday, April 16, 2010, 0318 hours
2700 W. Grace Street
The victim was outside of his apartment getting his mail when he was approached by the suspect who was armed with a silver-colored shotgun. The suspect said, “Drop everything and don’t run.” The suspect robbed the victim of his book bag which contained a wallet and a laptop computer. After the robbery the suspect ordered the victim to get on the ground and count to ten. The suspect was last seen running southbound on Mulberry towards Monument Avenue.
Suspect:
Armed w/silver-colored, single-barrel shotgun
B/M, 26-30 years old, 5’8-5’9””, 160-170 pounds, goatee beard
last seen wearing: dark-colored skull cap, dark-colored, baggy jacket
Sunday, April 25, 2010, 0310 hours
1400 Carter Street
The victim was walking northbound on Carter Street when a vehicle approached him. A passenger in the vehicle pointed a handgun with a laser sight at the victim and attempted to rob him. The victim pulled his own handgun and the suspect and victim exchanged gunfire. The victim was struck once in the shoulder by a bullet. After the attempt robbery the suspect vehicle left the area at a high-rate-of-speed. The victim was later treated and released from the hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot injury.

B/M, 17-21 years old, 140-160 pounds, goatee beard
last seen wearing: black t-shirt w/ red design (no further description available)

BURGLARY – (RESIDENTIAL)

Wednesday, April 2, 1441 hours
Unknown suspect entered residence through unlocked front window and stole video game system and video games.
2604 W. Grace Street
Sunday, April 4, 2322 hours
Unknown suspect forced open the basement door and stole a power tool.
1924 Hanover Avenue
Friday, April 23, 1900 – 2232 hours
Unknown suspect threw a brick through the kitchen window and attempted to gain entry to the residence. No entry was made; nothing taken.
1821 W. Cary Street
Monday, April 26, 2031 – 2036 hours
Unknown suspect entered apartment through unlocked back door and stole DVD’s and prescription drugs. The suspect was seen leaving the residence.

B/M, 5’7” – 5’10”, 20-40 years old, slight facial hair
last seen wearing: white hat, white t-shirt w/ red writing, long blue jean shorts

1717 Lakeview Avenue
Sunday, April 4, 1930-2147 hours
Unknown suspect entered residence through unlocked kitchen window and stole jewelry, laptop and digital camera.
1600 Wallace Street – ARREST MADE
Tuesday, April 6, 2200 hours
Juvenile suspects entered the residence by using a brick to force open the rear door. A digital camera was stolen, but later recovered by police and returned to the owner.
1715 Blair Street
Friday, April23, 100-1545 hours
Unknown suspect entered residence and stole 52” television. No signs of forced entry.
SIGNIFICANT ARRESTS/ACTIVITY
April 1
Officers responded to the 400 block of S. Harrison reference a call for a loud party. Upon arrival the officers heard from the street loud music being played as well as what appeared to be underage kids with alcohol. Before the officers could make contact with the underage drinkers a resident of the property and host of the party assisted them in quickly leaving the area. Further investigation resulted in the host/resident being arrested for violation of the City’s noise ordinance and maintaining a common nuisance.
April 2
The suspect was walking in the 500 block of N. Harrison when he approached an officer to say, “Hello” because he recognized the officer as someone he’d gone to high school with. The officer also recognized the suspect and knew that he had outstanding warrants on file for his arrest. The officer detained the suspect, confirmed the warrants and eventually took the suspect to jail.
April 6
Suspects threw a brick through the glass window of the rear door of a residence in the 1600 block of Wallace Street and opened the door. They entered the kitchen and stole a camera from the counter. The owner was home, heard the noise of the break-in from her upstairs bedroom and called police. She reported a description of the three suspects as they ran from the scene. A short time later an officer spotted the suspects as they attempted to break-in to a vehicle in 00 block of Harvie Street. The suspects attempted to flee the area on foot, but were quickly apprehended. Precinct detectives responded to assist the officers and a subsequent investigation resulted in the suspects being arrested for the burglary on Wallace Street as well as the recovery of the victim’s stolen camera.
April 9
Officers were driving on W. Grace Street when they observed the driver of a vehicle hit another car and continue driving. The officers stopped the car in the 300 block of N. Harrison. The officers conducted field sobriety tests with the driver and were able to determine that he was intoxicated. As a result, the driver was arrested for DUI and taken to lock-up.
April 11
An officer stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of Powhatan Street because the car stereo was being played too loud in violation of the City’s noise ordinance. During the stop the officer found the driver to be in illegal possession a firearm. As result, the driver was cited for violation of the noise ordinance and arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and his firearm was seized.
April 14
Officers with the Focus Mission Team executed a drug search warrant in the 2100 block of Idlewood Avenue. As a result, fifteen (15) bags of marijuana packaged for street-sale were recovered and a female suspect was arrested and charged with a drug felony.
April 14
Detectives with the Special Investigations Division followed up on a “Crime Stoppers” complaint reference drugs being sold out of an apartment in the 1100 block of Grove Avenue. Their investigation led to the execution of a drug search warrant for the apartment and the seizure of marijuana, cocaine, packaging material and drug paraphernalia. As a result, the tenant was arrested on misdemeanor and felony drug charges.
April 21
Officers responded to the 2600 block of W. Main reference a call about two suspects selling drugs across the street from a restaurant. Both suspects were located and as police interviewed them one ran from the scene. Officers chased the suspect and caught him in a nearby alley. The suspect fought with the officers as they tried to gain control of him. The suspect elbowed one of the officers in the forehead causing a large cut above the officer’s eye. After the suspect was safely handcuffed he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. As a result, the suspect was charged with assaulting the police officer as well as misdemeanor and felony drug offenses.
April 21
Officers with the Focus Mission Team executed a drug search warrant in the 1200 block of Wallace Street. As a result, two suspects were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The officers also seized marijuana, drug packaging material and several digital scales.
