the walled backyard and garage extend from the rear
2222 Lakeview Ave., Richmond, VA 23220
-Original loan: $490,500 on March 31, 2006
-Public auction date: April 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm
-John Marshall Courts Building, 400 9th Street Richmond, VA 23219
The owner of the home was ex-Sheriff of Richmond City, Michelle Mitchell. The balance of the loan exceeds the current assessed value of $482,000. The last time the property changed hands was in 1995 for $200,000. The house has been on the market under a few different realtors over the past two years. Currently it is listed with Remax (can anyone find that online?).

I tried to find it online, even remax doesn’t have it on their site. Do we know where the auction is?
The auction is to take place at 1pm, 4/29 in the John Marshall Courts Building, 400 9th Street Richmond, VA 23219.
What I remember most about passing the house while walking the dog were the fancy cars parked outside. While taking this picture, I talked to someone who went inside during a showing and saw “hundreds of boxes of women’s shoes in the basement.” I guess extravagance does have a breaking point.
This house was under $400k when it was last listed. I think it was either $350k or $390k. A relative steal.
When it was originally listed by Remax, 6-8 months ago, it was listed at $545,000 and has dropped steadily since. I’m dying to see inside. I think the MLS has expired which is why it can’t be found. The old pics on it suggest it needs updating (very 80s decor).
I think there is a contract pending which is why you are not finding it on line.
it was never listed at $350-$390K, that is ridiculous. the lowest the bank will accept according to the agent is $430K. it looks like a good deal but the inside is a mess – especially the bathrooms which will need to be completely redone. the house has been vacant for months with the utilities turned off, so expect some major repairs.
does anyone have an update on this property?
There’s a “sold” sign on it now.
