Not too stir up anyone, but it seems like y'all are jumping on Catherine a bit harshly. She's not complaining about the typical event at the stadium, but instead has taken issue with an event that was "unusually loud" and "continued later than normal".

I grew up in the Carillon neighborhood and one of my favorite memories is being able to hear the announcer and the crowd at City Stadium from my yard. It reminds me of weekend afternoons and changing seasons. I've never been a football fan, but to this day, sometimes when the weather is nice and it's football season, I will tune in to a random game on AM radio just for the memories.

Well this was the last game EVER for the Spiders. Maybe one more as they are moving to The campus next fall. Only the Kickers to fill a vacant, underused city owned stadium.

I have heard the noise for years and when it is cloudy it is worse but this is a City and not western Goochland.

It's good to hear they've been such good neighbors. While drowning out the noise with TV or music may work for some, try putting a baby to sleep with it - not so easy.

I live right behind the scoreboard on Maplewood. Even during games, if I turn my tv or music on it will drown out the stadium noise. Normally, though, I am out front enjoying the Kickers or the Spiders. Spiders only practice 2 nights before games at the stadium and 95% of the time there is absolutely no activity there. They have been great neighbors and I would much rather have an open field rather than 75 houses across the street. I am proud of the Spiders & hope they blast all of us away this Saturday with a win & some noise that Catherine can remember them by!
