this is exciting…seriously doubt this will happen though….need more retail… we need condos like i need a hole in my head
where am i going to get my rock now?
If you know Ed Eck he will find someone or drag them!!! He is responsible (yes other helped) for all the changes.
He has been working behind the scenes to get this one. Anyways it sounds more apts for VCU students and THEY would bring in some retail I bet.
On a related note, how long have those new-construction storefronts at Cary/Meadow been sitting empty? Any explanation? Surely, the BP can’t be the only reason. Why wouldn’t more freshly built condos w/street level retail produce the same results?
I think the Lofts at Cary Place is doing about as well as can be expected given the state of the economy and the nature of the corner. It barely got its feet planted before the recession hit, and let’s face it, that’s a challenging location for anything “luxury” anyway. It might sound counterintuitive but I think two similar developments would benefit each other (especially when one eliminates the corner’s main “hangout”).
This is great news. How can I help get this moving?
